ERMR 2019 Conference attendees will have a number of transport options at their disposal. Whether you’re coming by air, train, car or bus, it couldn’t be easier to attend the conference. Please fly to Sydney if you come to Wollongong by air.
The cheapest and easiest way to get to Wollongong from the Airport is to catch a train. The train leaves from both the domestic and international arrivals areas. All you have to do is to do a transfer at Wolli Creek station and change to a train heading to Port Kiama, Bomaderry or Dapto and get off the train at North Wollongong Station or Wollongong Station. You can buy a journey ticket at one of the automated machines or kiosks. Visit the Transport NSW website for journey times, as well as arrivals and departure times.
Taxis don’t operate between the airport and Wollongong, although you can hire a private shuttle service. UOW recommends Leisure Coast Limousines.

Buses are the only form of public transport for traveling around Wollongong. Buses around Wollongong are on the Opal system. An Opal card is prepaid ticketing system. You need to load the card with money and then tap the card when you enter and exit the bus. You can get your Opal card online, and at registered retailers.
You can top up your Opal card online, or at a registered retailer. If you top up at a retailer, the money will be loaded instantaneously. If you elect to top up online, bear in mind that it can take up to 60-minutes for the money to appear in your account.
